Witch Krafting with Kat

As it's half term holiday in many parts of the UK I thought it would be fun to post a more light hearted Witchy Wednesday this week. Based on my love as a child for the spooky here are some wonderful illustration from vintage children's book 'The Witch Family' by Eleanor Estes. Well I know it's only May but my love of Halloween is all year long. I love all things about Halloween the decorations, local traditions, the crafts, the spooky stories, scary films, and of course the fabulous costumes. In particular when it comes to collectables I really love old vintage Halloween postcards especially those from the Victorian and Edwardian period. They range from cute and Romantic, traditional with depictions of flying witches and grinning pumpkins to the downright strange and macabre!  Never really ever owning any until recently the joys of being able to surf the world wide web and especially 'Pinterest' is the fabulous collection of vintage Halloween postcards available for you can see, appreciate and even download. If printed and cut out they make fabulous ephemera for Halloween scrapbooks, spooky journals, for card making and for mixed media craft projects. Obviously I only recommending using them for personal usage as even though most of them are copy...

   OK maybe not my favourite person in the history of the world!
