Mother Shipton's Soap

Image
I found this lovely advert of Mother Shipton soap in an old newspaper on the BNA website. Mother Shipton's Soap was made at the Ivy Soap Works in Salford, Manchester, was a soap product featuring the image of the famous English prophetess and herbalist, Ursula Sontheil, also known as Mother Shipton, and the words "No Boiling".

Welcome to another Witchy Wednesday, the return of Kat's Witches Gallery.

As I type I am enjoying a little springtime holiday. I am mostly spending my time in my little garden sorting out all those little jobs I haven't been able to do over the winter months. But even though it's not exactly a holiday in the sense of going away to some pretty cottage by the sea it is nice to get out in the fresh air again and see some life returning to my happy space! 😊 As I am technically having a little break I thought for this Witchy Wednesday it would be nice to do another of my Kat's Witches Gallery.  Here is a collection of fabulous Witchy themed pictures I have found on my Pinterest travels. Pinterest is such a fun place to find ideas, learn new crafts and find information for historical research. All of these images were sourced via Pinterest. Please note some of these may have copyright restrictions so its best just to use them for inspiration and personal enjoyment.  To see clearer bigger images click on the image itself.  Please join me next week fo...

My new Pinterest Board for ATC's

Image
My New Pinterest Board I have been doing ATC (artist trading card) size arts and crafts for quite a few years now. Mainly because I love that they are cheaper to make than larger projects and also easier to store. I only live in a small house so I don't have room for large canvases and big mixed media makes. I am not really into selling my work, that's too much like hard work 😆 been there done that worn the t-shirt! So I find ATC's a great way to make small pieces of art and crafts, whether they are paintings, drawings or more craft related mixed media projects. It's a great medium to try out new ideas and to tinker with various products and techniques. I use both bought ATC cards, you can buy them in packs of pre cut stiff card or individually made from MDF, and also hand made ones. I often die cut my own from recycled paper, cardboard and even plastic. You don't even have to make them from paper products I have even made a few ATC's by needle felting them fro...

Old Kensington Market London!

Image
I found this fab video on YouTube. Those of you, like myself, who used to love visiting Kensington Market way back in the day will love this slightly fuzzy revisit! Sorry the video is not great quality but it is a long time ago! Those of you who are too young or never really visited London in the 70's and 80's Kensington market was a fab place stuffed of amazing clothes, jewellery, records and all sorts of amazing finds and rubbish items! 😆 It was always buzzing with cool alternative people including many people from Bands. It was a really sad day when I visited London to find it was all gone! 😭 But I am glad to find a little memory of it on the magic that is YouTube!  If I find anything else interesting I will post it here so please pop by my blog not only on Witchy Wednesdays but other times in the week. I like to share interesting things and hope you by sharing on here you will enjoy some of them too.  Kat 😊
