Making myself a Halloween ornie part 2

Image
Nearly done, just needs grunging and a ribbon. Finished! Quite chuffed how this turned out if I may say so myself lol! Added some more details to my Halloween ornament. Added some curtains which were made from a distressed ribbon and a little picture of my dog painted by Jenny Kelm of Kastlekelm miniatures. I also added a hand crafted witches broom, made by me. I then added extra grunge to the curtains by painting on some brown acrylic paint. I added some ink to the woodwork, I added ink to my glass work mat, sprayed with water and painted it on with a paintbrush. I also added some clear embossing powder to my little dog portrait to protect it from dust. To finish off I added a orange velvet ribbon. I am suffering a little with migraines this week but I promise as soon as I am better to do a tutorial on how to make the little broom. Thank you for reading my update, if you have any questions relating to this posting, the items I make or write about please do contact me. My conta...

Making myself a Halloween ornie! Part 1.

I was really lucky and got some fabulous Tim Holtz die cutters for my birthday last month one of which was this great Sizzix bigz window die cutter. Inspired by the wonderful creations by Tami Bastiaans and Kath Stewart featured on Tim Holtz website, see bottom of post for link, I thought I would get brave and have a go myself!  Firstly I cut out my basic window shapes from grey card. The type you get on the back of envelopes. I scored some lines with a cutting knife to create a wood effect. Then used some brown and tan paint to age. I glued some grungy paper, Tim Holtz last years Halloween paper stash, to a large wooden tag. I bought mine from my local craft store. I also added some paper shelves. For the view I used a photo of my husband taking out dog for a walk in a spooky wood. Sadly we lost our dear dog this year so this is a little tribute to him to make me smile! For the glass in the window I glued a piece of plastic from a plastic pa...

The Winter Wytches Market at Glastonbury November

Image
I highly recommend going to this fabulous market, I have been several times. At the market you will find loads of talented craft people selling the most amazing display of beautiful and unusual items, and at really reasonable prices. Being this market is so close to the festive season it's perfect timing for buying special pressies for your loved ones. Plus being in Glastonbury you can also make a day of if by visiting the Tor, the Abbey, and other fabulous alternative shops! Plus there are many cafés and pubs to have a spot of lunch or well deserved afternoon tea. So well worth a visit!
