Easter Witch!

The tradition is said to come from the old belief that witches would fly to the blue mountain (Blåkulla) on the Thursday before Easter to visit the devil. Swedes would hide brooms to try and prevent witches from attending and light fires to scare them away! A practise honoured today by the bonfires and fireworks across the land in the days leading up to Sunday.
