Found this fabulous article on Mother Shipton at Historic UK. I have been to the Petrifing Well at Knaresborough several times, its a fascinating place and worthy of a visit if any of you head up to Yorkshire. Just make sure you wear sturdy shoes as there is a bit of a walk but totally worth it to see all the strange and wonderful items petrified by the well!
