George Cruikshank was born in London on the 27th of September 1792 His parents where Isaac Cruikshank, a Scottish painter and caricaturist and Mary Cruikshank nรฉe MacNaughton. George Cruikshank started his career as an apprenticeship to his father, as did his older brother who also became a caricaturist, illustrator and portrait miniaturist. George Cruikshank became a much respected draughtsman, print-maker, caricaturist and graphic artist.
