Happy New Year and the Rollright Stones.

Happy New year everyone. I hope you enjoyed your Christmas holiday. We had a fairly quiet one which was very much intended and very much enjoyed! Still got some chocolates left over so I don't think healthy eating and worrying about diets will start until February! πŸ˜‚

Having some time off gave me some time to look through my backlog of photographs. It's so nice to revisit places from the comfort of the sofa.

Some of the places we love to visit at Standing Stones and Stone Circles. We done quite a few over the past ten years in various parts of the country. One of which is The Roll Right Stones.

Photos from one of my past visits.

The Three Fairies Dancing Sculpture

These photos I took way back in 2018 when I visited The Rollright Stones to see The Wicker Rollright Fairies, a temporary sculpture made by David Gosling and his son Adam. Really beautiful sculptures made from lime, willow, ivy and hazel, if I remember my facts correctly.

The Rollright Stones is an ancient site located on the Oxfordshire & Warwickshire border in England. The complex consists of three main elements, The King's Men stone circle, the King Stone, and the Whispering Knights. For more details including the tale of the witch of the Rollright Stones please visit their website under Folklore and Legends.
