The magic of making dies into stamps!

Did you know you make stamps from dies? Crafting, though extremely enjoyable and therapeutic, can be an expensive hobby so it's nice if you can find alternative uses for items you all ready have in your stash. Did you know for example you can create homemade stamps from die cut shapes.

To make a stamp you need dies and die cutter, foam sheets and a stamping positioner. I used a square of MDF you could use a square piece of thick card or even a lid from a jar! It has to be something sturdy so you can grip it easily when stamping.

Die cut your shapes, for one stamp you will need two identical foam/felt shapes.

Glue the identical shapes both together, then glue onto your chosen stamping positioner. If you don't want to permanent bond then stick your die cut shapes on with double sided sticky tape.

Then ink and stamp!

Sometimes it takes a couple of inks to get going but once you do you will be stamping away like a crazy craft demon! ๐Ÿคฃ You can decorate envelopes, make homemade tags and wrapping paper and even stamp onto fabrics.  If you are careful with your homemade stamps they should last quite a long time. I have one I made over five years ago which is still going strong. But don't fret the joy of these stamps is you can always remake them for very little money when they become worn out!

If you don't have dies and a die cutter you can always draw around cookie/biscuit cutters and then cut out your shapes with scissors. Remember you need two identical foam shapes for the stamp to work well.
