There is such a rich history  surrounding May Day festivals from the tradition of May Queens, the joviality of Morris Dancing,  the slightly scary but wondrous Obby Oss, atmospheric torch ceremonies sometimes including the burning of Wicker men! Local fairs burst into colour with flags, flowers where you will often see both children and adults Maypole dancing.

Because some folklore stories can be quite scary and disturbing with some adult content I would always advise visiting, reading and viewing links before showing or reading to younger children
