Witchy Wednesday The Northamptonshire Witches

This weeks Witchy Wednesday is in memory of the poor souls accused of Witchcraft and sentenced to death at Northampton in Northamptonshire on the 22nd of July 1612.

May you rest in peace, your pain desist and your spirits transcend to heaven.

Those sadly executed for the crime of Witchcraft at Northampton gallows on the 22nd of July 1612 were:

Arthur Bill of Raunds.
Mary Barber of Stanwick.
Agnes Browne of Guilsborough.
Joan Browne/Vaughan (daughter of Agnes) of Guilsborough.
Helen Jenkinson of Thrapston.

We will remember you.

Some folklore stories and articles about History can be quite scary and disturbing and may have some adult content. So I would always advise visiting, reading and viewing any links before showing or reading to younger children.
