Witchcraft and witches in the UK: Exploring 14 famous witch trials and stories. Welcome to another Witchy Wednesday. This week I am sharing a couple of links to really interesting articles I found whilst researching.  Learn more about some of Britains most famous witches and wise men via Countryfile's historical guide. Please visit the link below to read their really interesting and informative article.  https://www.countryfile.com/people/historical-figures/witchcraft-map Molly Leigh also known as the Burslem Witch.  Margaret 'Molly' Leigh  1685– March 1748. Here is a more sympathetic and in my view a truer account of the life of Molly Leigh as done by Richard Ault from Stoke On Trent Live. Has Molly Leigh been cruelly smeared by legend, when in fact she was a kindly benefactor of Burslem and a champion of women's rights? Welcome to Spring! A Witchy Wednesday article.

Welcome to Spring!  🌸🌱🌿🌸🌱🌿🌸🌱🌿🌸🌱🌿🌸🌱🌿🌸🌱🌿🌸 At last we are both meteorologically and astrologically in Spring!  The beautiful hues of pink and white blossom is appearing across the land as are new fresh green shoots and the arrival of spring flowers. The birds are busy making nests and farmers are welcoming the birth of new livestock  and are busy tending their fields.  Blackthorn blossom in my garden.  When this arrives I alway's know it is Springtime again.  From tomorrow the daylight hours start to take over shorten the dark evenings of winter and replacing them with light evenings of springtime. So we can all look forward to sitting in the garden and having evening walks in the sunlight again.  🌞🌱🌿🌸🌞🌱🌿🌸🌞🌱🌿🌸🌞🌱🌿🌸🌞🌱🌿 Ostara  is a Pagan solar holiday honoring the spring’s warmth, light from the sun, and the awakening of the earth. Pagan celebrations during this holiday have themes of balance, renewal and reb...

Sadly not this time! Pardoning Witches in Great Britain.

Update on the petition from January to pardon people who were wrongly accused of Witchcraft in Great Britain. Please visit  https://witchkraftingwithkat.blogspot.com/2024/01/witch-wednesday.html  to see my original article. The petition closed at 13,157 signatures. Well the sad news is we are a long way off from clearing their names. Unlike Scotland our Government is not so proactive for the rights of those wrongly accused of Witchcraft which is not recognised anymore as a real thing! Though they did review the petition and gave this response. Please visit this link πŸ”— for the details of the closed petition and the Government response on Witchcraft.  https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/640686 witchcraft Sadly the likes of Anne, Joane and Ellen and thousand of others like them were accused and sentenced to banishment or death because of accusations of witchcraft. These people and their families lives were destroyed because of prejudice, greed, and hate.  Lets hop...

The Wilden Witch, Witchy Wednesday article.

Image
Welcome to another Witchy Wednesday. It has been documented that a ghostly figure of a Witch has been spotted in the area of Wilden and Ravensden, Bedfordshire. Ghostly goings on in Bedfordshire! On a minor road between Wilden and Ravensden it's reported a strange figure dressed in black has been seen in broad daylight.  The figure has been identified as a witch with a malevolent character. Some say during her lifetime she was falsely accused of witchcraft and died after being forced out of her home. The haunted road is a minor road off the B660 between Ravensden and Wilden. A fabulous Vlog 'The haunted road, the vengeful Witch Mother Sutton' by Occult Investigations. Thank you for visiting and reading my blog article........
