Witches of Starwars!
I got questioned politely via Instagram about my love of witches and folklore and my love of sci-fi and fantasy. To me they are one and the same! All folklore legends are based on a mixture of truths, myths and stories often handed down by word of mouth for hundreds of years. Some lost but thankfully some were documented into books or turned into stories which in modern times became the basis to many amazing movies! Movies, such as Starwars, are inspired and often full of characters and themes based on the stories of old. George Lucas already written several drafts of Star Wars when he rediscovered Joseph Campbell's The Hero With a Thousand Faces. This blueprint for The Hero's Journey gave Lucas the focus he needed to draw his sprawling imaginary universe into a single story. A draft for a good story always involves some sort of quest, a danger filled journey of a good guy/girl, a love interest often in peril and often difficult moral decisions! Many had some sort of magical wizard, monsters, and often there is also an evil witch! The characters are woven together to tell stories of friendship, love, betrayal, loss and hope.
There are many magical characters in Starwars including Jedi who are very 'Wizard' like and also witches!
The Nightsisters are a coven of witches that lived on the mysterious world of Dathomir. The sisters ruled unchallenged, gifted with the power to wield dark magicks.
