Witchy Wednesday, making a Yuletide Star ⭐.
⭐ Making a Yuletide Star ⭐
Firstly you will need a star shape wire structure. I purchase a wire star from Hobbycraft you could make one from gardening wire or an old wire coat hanger.
Decorations.
Fairy lights (optional), preferably battery operated.
Various mosses, berries, cones, seed pods and dried flowers. I purchased mine from Hobbycraft and my local garden centre. You could use foliage from your garden or purchase some from your local florist, whatever is easiest for you.
Glitter (optional)
Other items.
Wire, wire cutters, glue gun, scissors, string or ribbon to hand your decoration up.
To make
Firstly I attached a set of battery operated fairy lights onto my Star using wire making sure the battery pack was on the back. I also added some green masking tape to help disguise the battery pack a little bit.
Then I started glueing on my dried flowers and mosses onto the front of my Star.
I carried on gluing lots of lovely dried flowers, seed pods and mosses until I was happy with the coverage. Remember to add plenty of foliage in the area to disguise your battery pack.
I also sprinkled on some glitter onto the strings of glue to give it a look of having spiderwebs.
Please note this is an indoor decoration if you are considering doing a Garden friendly Star please make it glitter and glue free. I recommend using gardening string and tucking and weaving your chosen foliage! Also I highly recommend using foliage from your garden so that you know they are safe for your local birds and wildlife.
I hope you enjoyed my simple tutorial and it inspires you to have a go at making your own Star. They are really easy to make and with supervision would make a good project to make with younger family member and also make perfect gifts for friends and family.
Please join me next week for another Witchy Wednesday posting.
